is one of the wildest new hobbies out there, and it’s one that always brings up a whole lot of questions – especially if you’ve never done it yourself yet! That’s why we’ve gathered the 13 most common questions about axe throwing.
Because if you can’t trust the experts, who can you trust?
Axe throwing can be 100% safe, especially when you’re doing it in a controlled environment like ours! You’ll need to take some serious precautions, like not messing about with the axe while it’s in your hands, but other than that, axe throwing is probably safer than playing a game of darts down at your local sports bar (especially since the people around you won’t have half a dozen beers in their system).
You would think that axe throwing would be an adults-only activity, but as long as you’re strong enough to lift one of our axes, you can throw it. In fact, we’ve got a bunch of differently-sized axes, including some pretty small ones, to make axe throwing a fun activity the whole family can enjoy!
We do ask that children under the age of 17 be accompanied by at least one adult at all times, however, in order to keep things safe for everyone.

You might have a vision in your head of massive, muscled lumberjacks being the only people capable of throwing axes, but this really isn’t the case. Believe it or not, you don’t need a huge amount of physical strength to hurl an axe.
In fact, it’s more about physical agility, precision, and hand-eye coordination than anything else. So you need to be strong enough to lift and toss, but you certainly don’t have to be Paul Bunyan.
This makes axe throwing a pretty even playing field for competition!
Speaking of competition, axe throwing isn’t quite recognized as an official professional sport. So no, you won’t see it at the next Olympics, but this doesn’t mean there isn’t organized play out there! There are leagues, associations, and even championship events with big cash prizes you can enter into if you feel like it.
In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if axe throwing replaces bowling as the most popular “not a sport” sport out there!

Believe it or not, yes, you can bring your own axe.
It has to be examined and approved first to make sure it’s the right shape and size for throwing and that it’s in good enough condition so that it won’t fly apart and injure someone, but if you’ve got a favourite throwing axe at home you can absolutely bring it down the next time you visit!
Axe throwing is truly universal, and we pride ourselves on being as accessible as possible to anyone and everyone. As long as you’ve got an arm, you can throw. In fact, we’ve had all sorts of people of all shapes and sizes enjoy throwing a few axes.
Wheelchair-bound, blind, older folks –
everyone’s welcome to toss a few axes here.

Of course it’s fun! Why would we have opened up a place for you to hurl axes if it wasn’t? Once you sink your first axe three inches into a bit of wood set up as a target you’ll feel like you’re tougher than an Alaskan grizzly and taller than a California redwood.
That feeling doesn’t go away, either – every time that axe leaves your hands and you watch it bury itself in a wooden target with a satisfying thunk, you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world.
Nope – the only thing you need to bring is yourself.
We supply the axes. We do recommend that you don’t wear open-toed shoes, though, and that’s a safety thing. You don’t want to end up dropping a throwing axe on your foot. The last thing you need is to be picking up some little piggies because you decided to wear sandals that day!

Tossing axes is fun, but you can certainly work up a good appetite doing so! You’re welcome to bring something to snack on while you’re waiting your turn on the throwing line. We don’t have utensils, though, so keep that in mind before you decide to pack a full picnic lunch.
There’s a good reason we don’t serve alcohol or allow any alcohol on the premises. Throwing razor-sharp hand axes and alcoholic beverages simply don’t mix.
For your safety and the safety of others around you,
please don’t drink and throw.

Are you kidding? Axe throwing is a great party activity! Bond with your friends or family, compete among yourselves to see who can hit the bullseye the most times, and build memories that will last a lifetime.
We guarantee you’ll love it – all it takes is one afternoon or evening of axe throwing and you’ll be back the very next week.

If you’re really into axe throwing (and after a few times with us you probably will be!) you might want to try practicing at home. You’ll need to find a safe place to do so where there’s no danger of anyone getting hurt, but if you have the right type of space and equipment you can hone your skills on your own before coming back and wowing your friends. If all else fails, though, just come in by yourself to get some axe throwing time in, as it’s the safest option!
