IF YOU ASK US WHAT WE HATE ABOUT AXE THROWING, WITHOUT A SECOND OF A DOUBT, IS THE AMOUNT OF WOOD WE USED
An average urban tree can fit between 150 and 200 board feet of wood.
Our target size measured at 4x4 ft, where the middle plank is subject to the most wear and tear. On average, the middle part is changed after 8 people or 4 groups and the side planks are changed after 15 people or 5 groups. On average one plank is good for 12 people.
The size of each plank measures at 10 x 2 inches by 4ft (48 inches) or 6.67 board feet.
Doing simple math, we realized it takes only 300 clients for the whole tree to be destroyed.
This is frightening.
THE SECOND-BEST TIME IS NOW
We live in a world, where the climate crisis has become increasingly tangible. Deforestation is considered one of five biggest environmental problems of our time.
The loss of forests contributes between 12 percent and 17 percent of annual global greenhouse gas emissions. Each year, the world squanders 7.3 million hectares of forest.
We don't want to be apart of this.
We, at TNT Axe Throwing made a promise to plant one tree for every 50 people that came to throw axes. Our goal is met once a year with our team and axe throwing fans to plant trees in Montreal. However, with the COVID-19 crisis this idea became impossible.
Therefore, we selected a national non-profit organization dedicated to planting trees and decided to donate to them.
This is the least we can do.
You can fight deforestation with us!
Come to our future events, where we plant trees. More details will follow. However, the next public meeting is planned for 2022. You can also donate to non-profit organizations of your choice. We, at TNT, work with Tree Canada, a national Canadian company. The donation form is available on their website.
Please note; TNT Axe Throwing does not collect any money on behalf of any non-profitable company.
And the most important thing that you can do is to not stay indifferent.
